On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, St. Alexius Medical Center welcomed The Most Revered David D. Kagan, D.D., P.A., J.C.L., Bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck, for his annual pastoral visitation. Bishop Kagan was greeted by Prioress of Annunciation Monastery and St. Alexius Board President Sr. Nancy Miller, OSB, and Gary P. Miller, St. Alexius’ president and CEO. Bishop Kagan presided over a Eucharistic Liturgy in St. Alexius’ Chapel; followed by a special luncheon in Boniface Auditorium.
Bishop Kagan visited the medical center’s newly remodeled patient care areas. He also went to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Heart & Lung Vascular Center to bless the department, patients, families and staff.
The annual pastoral visitation is an opportunity for the bishop to visit St. Alexius and highlight what it means to be a catholic healthcare provider. Bishop Kagan’s visit was particularly special as St. Alexius Medical Center celebrated its 129 anniversary that day.
