Workforce Safety & Insurance (WSI) Ergonomic Initiative
In an effort to focus on prevention of ergonomic related injuries in the workplace, WSI is offering the Workforce Safety & Insurance Ergonomic Initiative Loss Control Program. This grant provides financial assistance towards addressing the ergonomic issues of organizations. Our ergonomic experts at St. Alexius Occupational Health are a proud provider for the WSI Ergonomic Initiative Program and will provide on-site assistance to North Dakota employers throughout the application and implementation process.
On-site services may include:
- on-site ergonomic assessments in which potential or existing problems will be identified
- ergonomic recommendations and interventions
- assistance with selection of appropriate ergonomic equipment
- employer and employee ergonomic training
If the assessments conducted during the Ergonomic Initiative warrant equipment purchases, employers may be eligible for assistance through the Ergonomic Initiative Grant Program.
To begin the process, submit an Ergonomic Initiative Employer Application  to WSI. After your application is approved, please contact St. Alexius Occupational Health to arrange for an ergonomic evaluation.
Fatigue management is vital to workplace safety and employee health, particularly with shift workers and over-the-road truck drivers. As part of our comprehensive occupational health and wellness program we can educate your employees about fatigue and sleep disorders and give them tools to get a good night's sleep. Our occupational health providers work closely with the board certified sleep specialists at the St. Alexius Sleep Center  to provide screening, diagnosis, and treatment for sleep disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Healthy employees help keep your workplace productive. Health screenings play an important role in alerting employees of a health risk that might go otherwise undetected. Our clinical staff will provide your employees with education and wellness screenings to help them make healthy lifestyle choices and reduce their risks for developing adverse health conditions.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program  is an employee benefit program which provides confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services for employees. Our EAP is staffed by trained professionals who can address marital/family concerns, work-related problems, emotional/behavioral concerns, financial problems, and alcohol/drug dependency. The EAP staff also has extensive expertise in management training and consultation. Services offered are either face-to-face, web-based, or phone consultation by the EAP clinical staff.
