St. Alexius’ President and CEO, Gary P. Miller, announced today the appointment of Sister Mariah Dietz, OSB, as the medical center’s vice president of mission effectiveness. As the vice president of mission effectiveness, Sister Mariah will oversee the organization’s adherence to its mission, “Let All Be Received as Christ.” In December of 2002, she was named to St. Alexius’ Board of Directors, and has served on the Sponsorship Council for Annunciation Monastery, the sponsor of St Alexius Medical Center. Sister Mariah assumed her new responsibilities on June 10, 2013.
Sister Mariah earned a bachelor of nursing science from University of Mary. She completed her Masters of Nursing at University of Illinois and received a Doctorate of Nursing Science from The Catholic University of America. Sister Mariah also attended Avera Health Systems’ Clinical Pastoral Education program.
Sister Mariah began her nursing career at St. Alexius. For more than 40 years she was a valued faculty member of the University of Mary’s Nursing Program. Since 2010, Sister Mariah has served as director of spiritual care at St. Gabriel’s Community.
