St. Alexius Home Care and Hospice held its 22nd annual tree planting ceremony on Wednesday, May 22. The event is a time for families to remember their loved ones. Patients who passed away were recognized and their lives celebrated during the ceremony. Families had the chance to write a note to their loved one and plant it with the tree. The note is meant to symbolize nourishment for the tree. An open house and fellowship followed the ceremony. The event was open to the public.
The 18th annual Garrison tree planting is at 1 p.m. on June 4 at the Benedictine Living Center. The 7th annual New Salem tree planting is at 1:30 p.m. on June 5 at Elm Crest Manor.
