Dr. Kavlie joined Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare in September 1985. A specialist in general, bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery, he is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Christian Medical Society.
Born in Fairbault, Minn., Dr. Kavlie grew up in North Dakota. He attended Minot State College and received his undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Dr. Kavlie received his medical degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and completed his surgical residency at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D.
Prior to joining Mid Dakota Clinic, Dr. Kavlie was an emergency medicine physician at Huron Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital in South Dakota. He was also Clinical Associate for the Department of Surgery at the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Kavlie is Associate Professor of Surgery at UND School of Medicine, a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the Northern Plains Vascular Surgical Society. He is licensed to practice in North Dakota.
