Tom Koster is alive thanks to a procedure performed at St. Alexius Medical Center. After suffering a stroke, he was rushed by ambulance to St. Alexius. There, doctors used the Merci Retrieval System to remove a life-threatening blood clot from Tom’s brain. It was the first time this procedure was done in North Dakota.
