Dr. Lisa Francis CCD, RMSK, FACR, RhMSUS is a board certified rheumatologist with The Clinics of St. Alexius and is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. After receiving her medical degree from Calicut Medical College in India, she completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, N.Y. She has also undergone postgraduate training in Pediatrics in India and the UK.
She won the award for Excellence in Research at SUNY Upstate Medical University for 2009-2010 and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. She was awarded the RMSK Pioneer Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and is one of the first few physicians to be certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She is the first rheumatologist in North Dakota to complete the American College of Rheumatology Musculoskeletal Ultrasound certification (RhMSUS).
Dr. Francis is board certified in internal medicine and the subspecialty of rheumatology. She is certified to read bone densitometry studies. She is a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, International Society for Clinical Densitometry and Fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology. She is a clinical associate professor at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She received the Dean’s Recognition Award for her commitment to teaching medical students and residents.
