Lisa Francis MD, CCD, RMSK, FACR, is a board certified rheumatologist with The Clinics of St. Alexius and a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. After receiving her medical degree from Calicut Medical College in India, she completed a residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, N.Y. She has also undergone postgraduate training in pediatrics in India and the UK.
Dr. Francis won the award for Excellence in Research at SUNY Upstate Medical University for 2009-2010 and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. She was awarded the RMSK Pioneer Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and is one of the first few physicians to be certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She is certified to read bone densitometry studies.
Dr. Francis is board certified in internal medicine and the subspecialty of rheumatology. She is a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, International Society for Clinical Densitometry and Fellow member of the American College of Rheumatology. She is a clinical assistant professor at The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She received the Dean’s Recognition Award for her commitment to teaching medical students and residents.
