Originally from Bismarck, Wachter graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in art and a minor in interior design. Wachter’s work has been shown in numerous solo shows and in exhibitions, and she has many pieces in both public and private collections throughout the country. Her contemporary mixed media work is strongly gestural. According to the artist, she draws inspiration for her artwork from past experiences. Through her artwork she expresses a passion for life; affirming a spiritual truth she finds in nature and life itself. She reveals her life and the lives around her through color, texture, and composition. Her abstract expressionist style is illuminating and evokes the viewer’s power of interpretation.
