St. Alexius Medical Center held its annual Volunteer Christmas Luncheon as a way to recognize and give thanks to all of its hardworking volunteers.
This past year, St. Alexius had 262 volunteers who dedicated more than 22,611 hours of service in over 30 departments at the Medical Center, allowing St. Alexius to continue to provide personalized health care to its patients. “St. Alexius volunteers’ dedication and commitment remain integral in helping St. Alexius serve the community in its mission to "Let all be received as Christ.” said Laurie Hatzenbuhler, director of Volunteer Services. “When the volunteers’ duties are compared to actual wage rates, the impact to the Medical Center was $216,576.”
St. Alexius Medical Center has a long history of volunteerism. Today, the program is continually expanding to accommodate volunteers of all ages including a junior volunteer opportunity for young teens.
