About 75 people attended a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony at the location of the future Minot Medical Plaza on Tuesday, June 24 at 9:30 a.m. The site of the new building is at the intersection of Landmark Circle and 21st Avenue NW, near the Hyatt House and US Highway 83 bypass.
The event began with words from St. Alexius and community leaders. St. Alexius spoke about their appreciate and gratitude to the city of Minot for their support of building a two-story medical facility, and city dignitaries thanked and verbally supported St. Alexius in its decision to expand its medical clinic in Minot.
The state-of-the art medical plaza will feature 40 primary care and 20 specialty care exam rooms as well as a same day surgical center. In addition St. Alexius Minot Medical Plaza will provide imaging (diagnostic radiology, MRIs, CTs, ultrasound, mammography and Dexa
Scan), physical therapy and laboratory services. For the convenience of patients the plaza will also contain a retail pharmacy.
The cost for the new healthcare plaza is estimated at $19 million dollars. The projected opening is the summer of 2015.
