St. Alexius Auxiliary Donates Record Amount to Medical Center

St. Alexius’ Auxiliary presented the Medical Center with a record $60,000 donation during the Auxiliary’s annual business meeting. St. Alexius’ Auxiliary is comprised of 73 members, who host seven fundraisers a year and volunteer their time to run the hospital’s gift shop

“The Auxiliary members work tirelessly year-round to help patients and visitors at St. Alexius,” said Laurie Hatzenbuhler, director of volunteer services at St. Alexius. “Each member generously adds their time and talents and this donation is an incredible testament to their dedication to helping the Medical Center.”

Gary P. Miller, president and CEO of St. Alexius stated, “Since 1948, St. Alexius’ Auxiliary has worked tirelessly to provide funds to help support the healing mission of St. Alexius Medical Center. The Auxiliary is truly an example of people helping people. I thank them on behalf of all who have benefited from their generosity over the years.”

In 2012, some of the items purchased through funds from the Auxiliary included ten wheelchairs for the patient access department, eight wheelchairs for the Medical Arts Clinics and three 60” flat screen TV’s for surgical services waiting room.
