St. Alexius Auxiliary Donates To Medical Center

St. Alexius’ Auxiliary presented the Medical Center with a $75,000 donation during the Auxiliary’s annual business meeting. St. Alexius’ Auxiliary is comprised of 69 members, who host several fundraisers a year and volunteer their time to run the hospital’s gift shop.

“The Auxiliary members work tirelessly year-round to help patients and visitors at St. Alexius,” said Laurie Hatzenbuhler, director of volunteer services at St. Alexius. “Each member generously adds their time and talents and this donation is an incredible testament to their dedication to helping the Medical Center.”

Gary P. Miller, president and CEO of St. Alexius stated, “Since 1948, St. Alexius’ Auxiliary has provided essential funding to support the healing mission of St. Alexius Medical Center. The Auxiliary is truly an example of people helping people. I thank them on behalf of all who have benefited from their generosity over the years.”

In 2013, some of the items purchased through funds from the Auxiliary included artwork for the Heart & Vascular Center holding unit, upgrades to the sound system in the Chapel and donations for the Alex Town pediatric unit renovation.
