St. Alexius’ Relay For Life Team Receives National Award

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) recognizes St. Alexius Medical Center’s Relay For Life team for receiving the ACS CAN Club Team award.

ACS CAN is a nonprofit, nonpartisan sister advocacy organization to the American Cancer society. Members of an ACS CAN team are able to work closely with local, state and federal lawmakers to advocate for better access to care, cancer prevention and early detection programs, cancer research funding, regulation of tobacco by the government and better quality of life for cancer patients.

Only a few teams in ND have reached the ACS CAN Club status. The St. Alexius team is the first team from the Bismarck-Mandan Relay for Life to receive this award.

Relay for Life gives people hope in the fight against cancer by providing an opportunity to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those who have been lost to cancer and fight back against cancer.
