Hospitals Work Together to Bring Services to Dickinson

Two North Dakota hospitals are teaming up to bring some medical services closer to Dickinson area patients. St. Alexius will now hold its pain clinic once a month at St. Joseph's Hospital. The program started today. The pain clinic involves treatments such as epidural, spine and joint shots. The goal is to keep Dickinson residents from having to travel to Bismarck for treatment.

(Dr. Gary Johnson, Pain Specialist):  "It'll take them three or four hours of their time, where if they live in Dickinson, it'll take maybe a half an hour. So it's a big convenience.”

Doctor Johnson says he may go to Dickinson more than once a month if patients need additional treatment.
