November is National Hospice Month, and one local hospital took some time today to recognize its dedicated hospice team.
St. Alexius held a flag raising ceremony to remember its hospice patients, and celebrate the hard work of its staff. Nurses, social workers, and clergy were all in attendance. The ceremony included a description of what the hospice team does, as well as a short prayer.
"Our patients and their families are so special to us, all the sacrifices they make to give their loved ones quality at the last days of life, so we want to recognize that," says Chaplain Lori Lundblad, St. Alexius Hospice.
The flag will remain up the entire month of November.
