Finding a Future in Africa

St. Alexius Heart & Lung Clinic diabetes manager, Cindy Renner, PA-C, CDE, and her husband, Larry, have known for a long time that they would one day like to spend their retirement doing mission work. Having already made four humanitarian trips to China has proven how rewarding helping those less fortunate can be. So when their good friends, Dr. Kent Martin and his wife Peggy invited them to a mission trip to Africa, Cindy and her husband were quite excited. The group of four traveled to an orphanage in Tanzania. “This orphanage is not like others. Instead of trying to find homes for the children, they’re educated and given the skills they need to become future leaders of Africa,” says Cindy. “The children made this a life-changing experience for all of us”
