“We are proud to receive these special recognitions for safety and quality,” said Kurt Schley, president of CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck. “This is a tribute to our physicians, nurses and entire clinical team for their hard work and dedication to position our hospital as a leading, trusted provider of care for the patients we have the privilege to serve.”

In addition to these outstanding accolades for the hospital, CHI St. Alexius continues to be recognized as a five star provider for care provided in the transitional care unit (TCU). According to Rosanne Schmidt, vice president and chief nursing officer, this is a wonderful achievement for CHI St. Alexius Health TCU. “Our associates remain committed to providing the highest quality care to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. We are very proud of our team.”

For its latest scores, the Leapfrog Group assigned "A" to "F" letter grades to hospitals based on 28 performance measures using data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the American Hospital Association's annual survey, CDC, CMS, and the Leapfrog Hospital Survey. Taken together, they produce a single score representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.
