2012 Brings Record Number of Little Fingers and Toes to St. Alexius

It was another record year for St. Alexius Medical Center’s The Birth Place.  This year, the Medical Center welcomed 1,541 babies; 107 more than in 2011. “It’s just amazing!  It seems like every year we’re reaching another milestone at The Birth Place,” says Stephanie Goroski, director of St. Alexius Women’s and Children’s Services.  “Not only did we reach a new annual record number of babies, we reached a new record for the number of babies born in a single month.

St. Alexius started 2012 off with a bang as The Birth Place delivered one set of triplets and six sets of twins in January.  In May, a record 147 babies were born.

St. Alexius also welcomed the region’s first baby of 2013.  Kambree Mickelsen, of Kenmare, was born at 1:39 p.m. on January 1, 2013.
