Caring for the whole person is a standard at St. Alexius, and to do that, it means including the patient's family. We believe that communication is key in helping provide information and easing anxiety. The operating room nurse will keep the family informed through the entire procedure. A waiting room is provided for family and friends along with private consultation rooms where the family and surgeon can meet privately.
A member of pastoral care, which includes, priests, sisters, and ministers, will visit with the patient's family members to assist with any spiritual and emotional needs. To accommodate a variety of spiritual practices, family, friends and patients, may use the Meditation Room by contacting Pastoral Care.
