Neonatology encompasses the care of an infant both before and after birth by a physician who has additional training and is skilled and equipped to handle critical newborn situations where one or more body systems are involved. Neonatologists from St. Alexius Specialty Clinics also work in the St. Alexius Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) that has been serving the region for more than 25 years.
